Terms of Service

Welcome to Sagaveld, built by Smidveld Studios. These terms are written to be read, not skimmed past. By using the service you agree to them. If anything is unclear, email support@smidveld.com.

Your account

• You must be 13 or older to use Sagaveld.
• Keep your login credentials to yourself; you're responsible for activity on your account.
• Give us accurate account information and keep it up to date.

Recording consent — read this one

If you record or upload audio, you are solely responsible for getting consent from everyone who appears in that recording, as required by the laws that apply to you and your players. Some places — including all-party consent states like California — require that every person being recorded agrees to it, not just the person holding the recorder.

Sagaveld provides recording and transcription tools; it does not and cannot obtain consent on your behalf. Before you hit record, make sure your whole table has said yes.

Your content is yours

You own your recordings, transcripts, and campaign content — characters, lore, notes, chapters, all of it. You grant us a limited license to host and process that content solely to provide the service (transcription, AI generation, storage, sharing with your campaign members). We claim no other rights to it, and we never use it to train AI models.

Acceptable use

• Don't upload content that's illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to use.
• Don't attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Don't use the service to harass others or to record people without their consent.

AI-generated content

Recaps, lore entries, and chapters are generated by AI and may contain errors, omissions, or creative liberties. Review generated content before relying on it or sharing it. You're responsible for what you publish or print from the service.

Subscriptions, billing, and print purchases

When paid plans launch, the following applies:

• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (via Stripe) at the tier you choose.
• You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
• Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable for partial periods.
• One-time purchases (like a printed Campaign Tome) are charged at the time of order. Because print products are made to order, they can't be cancelled once production begins — but we'll make it right if your tome arrives damaged or defective.
• We'll give you reasonable notice before any price change affects you.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical. On termination, your right to use the service ends; deletion of your content follows our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Smidveld Studios is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules.

Changes and contact

If we make material changes to these terms we'll update the effective date and notify you in the app. Contact: support@smidveld.com.
